Winning the game of communication
in our everyday lives is paramount to successful relationships. Building
successful relationships is the key ingredient to all facets of business
success, from sales to client satisfaction. The Art of Verbal Chess
is a process to enable us to harmonize our mind, mouth, and body,
within a communication strategy. This strategy was developed through
an accumulation of over thirty years of interviewing, research, trial
and error, and education. This has led to the methodology of the
game of the master communicator. Relating communication to the game
of Chess helps the learner envision the strategy connection to successful
communication.
In Verbal Chess every piece of the game from the King to the Pawns
are interrelated and dependent on each other to have success. Once
we realize this, we will have less difficulty visualizing communication
strategies, transcending the difficult learning process, and starting
to develop the disciplines, traits, and skills of a master communicator.

Verbal Chess is a strategic win-win process where we become inflow
enablers, strategic outflow experts and never bow to verbal overflow.
The minimum win in the game of Verbal Chess is after the conversation
is over, our opponent leaves, they have not agreed or been persuaded,
but they leave seeing us with respect.
Why become a master communicator? They are people who achieve inward
success, and an incredible degree of outward success. They are the
employees who sell the most, the supervisors who are the most respected
and get the most from their employees; they have the most friends,
and are those who affirm others around them, which is truly a gift.
Everything in every organization starts and ends with communication
and that is why this training is needed at every level of every organization
in the world.
Outline of the Game of the Master Communicator
-
KING - The Nature of Verbal Chess
The King trains itself with the many virtues, designs the strategy,
and directs the pieces where they will do the most good. The
King is the character of the Verbal Chess side of the playing
field; the moral compass and the inner truth of who we really
are.
Queen – The Art of Giving Grace
The Queen works from within every piece on the Verbal Chess side
of the playing field. It is our power to impartially step into
another's life, seeing the world through their eyes, selflessly
giving mercy, and compassion to gain understanding, and at the
same time being able to step back and see reality, then acting
on the information in a positive and edifying way.
Bishops – Empathic Listening
The Bishop is our intelligence
gatherer. The unnatural highly artistic tools that can move
diagonally across the playing field to search, anticipate, affirm,
and understand
our opponent.
Knights – Strategic Speaking
The Knight is our verbal personality and is the most unique motion
piece of the game and the most difficult to use. By using the
Verbal Chess process of speaking, we are able to positively influence
our opponent, and bring them to compliance.
Castles – Body Language and Personal
Space
The Castle is silent communication that influences our opponent
covertly. It moves forward and backward, side-to-side changing
the playing field by presenting different views of our inner
self and outward demeanor.
Pawns – Our On-Time Delivery tools
Pawns use all the elements of the game, to move our opponent to
persuasion or compliance through compelling, and positive influences.
The thirteen Pawns move forward one space at a time. They are
our On-Time delivery tools. They can be calming, persuasive,
protective, penetrating, and assuring. Pawns are delivered through
our body language, tone of voice, and our words, while working
in harmony with our Mind, Mouth and Body.
